Postcard from Lebanon #3
Dear Readers
Winter begins in Lebanon, and with it the beginning of a new season in the daily suffering of Syrian refugees—the suffering of cold and the provision of warmth for family members. The refugees here face many confrontations in securing safety and warmth in light of the current conditions that Lebanon is going through: very difficult economic conditions and a very sharp rise in prices, in addition to a scarcity of basic materials for life, so it is very difficult to secure the necessities of life.
In addition, the refugees during this period are exposed to many racist campaigns threatening their existence, as approximately 250 Syrian refugee families in one of the villages in northern Lebanon were subjected to forced displacement, beatings and burning of property, without the intervention of international institutions to help secure shelter and food in harsh cold conditions.
These are long and harsh days that Syrian refugees live without hope for life or stability.
